My name is Gemma, the face behind Barcino Localisation.

I have over 11 years of experience in translation and proofreading and I’ve worked in a variety of roles in the past, including translation project management, as well as many years as a freelance translator.

In addition to translation, I have almost 20 years' corporate experience working in cross-country, multilanguage corporate environments; mostly supporting business software projects, such as the implementation of ERP systems, product integration and data migration.

As a professional translator, I am committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and to keeping my skills and knowledge up-to-date, as demonstrated by my ISO 17100:2015 Qualified status.

Languages are my passion. Whether I'm at my desk translating, proofreading or editing or travelling abroad learning new foreign words, my love for languages remains undimmed.

I consider myself privileged to be able to work in this field, combining this dedication with my interest in digital technology, my background in –and love for– humanities and my business IT and corporate experience.
